Workshop 1
Today was a historic day for the people in PUS.
At 9am on a cold Saturday morning (3rd Dec 2016), 12 enthusiastic budding surgeons entered the John Bull Building, Derriford. Their goal: to complete the first ever PUS surgical workshop. As part of the workshop, surgeons from Derriford provided teaching on basic suturing and wound care management. Participants also had the opportunity to partake in suturing and knot-tying practical classes in between tutorials.
With three and a half hours of workshop time, the bright eyed students left not only more knowledgeable about the basics of surgical techniques, but also with a free PUS goody bag containing their very own suturing kit!
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the surgeons for teaching and helping facilitate this event; without them and their expertise, it would not have been as successful.
Special acknolwedgements to the organising committee (Ian, Emily, Shriyam and Omar) of the event as well, for it would not have happened at all without their effort!
